I spend a lot of time in traffic, both in Denmark and abroad and I see every day people who use their hand held cell phone and drive at the same time. It is not certain groups, but a wide range of people. All show the same contempt for both the law and other people's lives. I cannot understand that people exhibit this behavior. Today, there is blue tooth equipment for fewer than 100 Dollars as easily and without IT knowledge can be mounted in the car.
Should I make a clear statement it will be: People would rather save a few dollars than care for fellow human beings or persons found in their car. It is even more disturbing that people like to buy large car - Cool equipment and things that Pimp their cars, but spend $ 100 dollars to save lives are not high on their list.
Worst of all are the people who have their work on the road (truck drivers - taxi driver - ambulances and buses) When these people talk in hand held cell phone they should put a sign in the window - Road killer on the move.
Next time you have a truck running close behind your car, try to think how far his braking distance is if he speaks in hand held cell phone. Dare you take the chance - Wonder if you will survive a crash?
